Information

Suicide ranks as the SECOND leading cause of death for college age youth, the THIRD leading cause of death for ages 15-24, and FOURTH for ages 10-14.

Our aim is to educate teenagers and young adults about depression and suicide. Our goal is to prevent suicide. Through education, awareness and prevention, we hope those in despair will choose life and live it to the fullest. Depression is treatable and suicide is preventable.

To help those in despair, Colie's Closet will provide financial assistance to treatment facilities for the professional treatment of depressed and suicidal individuals.

It is the belief of the Colie's Closet organization, that emphasis placed on educating teenagers, young adults and others about depression and suicide is key in helping to bring down the suicide rate. Having knowledge about depression, knowing the warning signs of suicide and where to go for help will hopefully help those who someday may find themselves in a hopeless situation.

The reality is... depression and suicide doesn't discriminate. It affects most age groups, both genders, all ethnic and socioeconomic groups, all religions, and is a nationwide problem.

    • Colie's Closet is composed of teenagers and young adults working together to further the understanding and treatment of depression and the prevention of suicide.
    • Colie's Closet is directed by a volunteer teen board of eleven members. The teen board consists of middle school, high school and college students whose goal is to prevent suicide. S.O.S. (Stamp out Suicide)
